PowerPlay Hockey's renowned summer hockey camp! The initiation division will consist of a 45-minute on-ice session featuring the latest techniques and games in order to get the best development out of each and every child while respecting social distancing on the ice. Using Hockey Canada's newly developed Initiation Program, we build our sessions to align PowerPlay and national standards. Our sessions feature a 1 to 4 coach to player ratio.
This year's camp sessions will feature intense 75 minutes sessions of high-level hockey instruction to get the best out of your game. As always with PowerPlay programming, we tailor our programming each individual with progressions and regressions to build on a player's strengths but also tackle their weaknesses. Our on-ice session will adhere to the Town of Kapuskasing's COVID-19 protocol.
Again this year, we have Ian Olsen from École de gardiens GoalTech coming in from Gatineau for our young goalies. He will work with each goaltender covering all areas between the pipes including positioning, angles, movement, hand positioning, rebound control and playing the puck. These sessions will work hand in hand with our player camps therefore goalies will be grouped with players their own age and ability. The camp with feature a 1:2 coach to goaltender ratio to ensure proper attention and development. For more information on École de gardiens GoalTech, visit: https://www.ecoledegardiensgoaltech.com/
